Can you connect Linksys wireless router via ethernet internet connection? ?

kam asked: My internet connection doesnt need a modem and uses a direct ethernet cable from the wall to the computer. But when I try to connect via linksys router, it’s unable to connect to the internet. My internet service provider says one thing and linksys says another. Any ideas?
