I have a home phone by my Internet provider and want to add a wireless router.HELP?

The problem is that I already had the wireless router and later got home phone service through my internet provider and now I don’t know how to connect them both together if that is even possible.

    It is possible, and for me it is the only way that my phone and wireless network will work. My set up connects my cable modem to the wired router, which connects to the wireless router, then to my broadband phone. It sounds dumb, but I can’t make it work by disconnecting either one of the routers. It has been working like this for the last two years.

    WOULD NOT RECOMMEND INTERNET PHONE SERVICE , CAUSE THEIR JUST A BUNCH OF HEADACHES

    To the previous poster.. I have had Internet Phone for the past 2 years… Its the best thing that has happened to the phone.. since.. the phone! 27/month ALWAYS.. how do you beat that?

    Anyway, your phone service provider should supply you with diagrams on how to set up your phone modem to work with your other routers/modems.

    I have a Vonage.. the phone modem is actually a wired router with the phone jacks in the back. I also have a wireless router.

    So heres my set-up starting at cable modem:
    -Cable Modem into Wired Router
    -Connect everything to your wired router (computers and wireless router.

    So the internet is going into the wired router. Your wireless router is getting the internet from the wired one. Your computer(s) are also getting internet from your wired one.

    Understand?!? Cause im confused! LOL. but its working at my house

    You’ll have to connect the wireless router to the cable/DSL modem then connect the VOIP phone to the router. Sometimes you’ll have to staticlly route the IP for the phone.
